Weekend Writing Prompt #260- Omphalos
‘The Omphalos of the world,’ snooty Ralph said, ‘is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. It represents the navel of the world. The Jews say the same about the Foundation Stone at the Temple Mount.’
Sarcastic Sam, who could never resist a chance for wordplay, asked, ‘is it an innie or an outie.?’
This would happen whenever Ralph, a pseudointellectual, would climb upon his soapbox. Sam always knew how to outsmart the self professed expert on all things.
Naturally Ralph, ever the snob, always replied with the royal ‘We’.
