‘
‘Have you heard I’ve met Peter Noone from Herman’s Hermits?’ I asked Peter and Henry.
‘Have you really?’ Peter said.
‘I’ve never once set eyes upon him in person,’ I said, ‘But he has daily Facebook videos, and I make comments. He occasionally has even referrred to me by name.’
‘All your life you’ve been living vicariously in the ’60’s’, Henry reminded me, ‘And now you’ve gone completely over the edge. Next you’ll be constructing an exact replica of the era and living there.’
‘How did you know?’ I asked. ‘I can’t remember having told you.’
Welcome back to Rochelle’s world of Friday Fictioneers, beginning, as always, on Wednesday.

Henry knows him well, which must bring him comfort.

p.s. Is the Peter Noone part truth or fiction??

He’s on Facebook daily and he’s occasionally said very brief things to me, and addressed me by name~

Aha! I had a feeling that part was true. Cool! I had Chuck Palahniuk respond to one of my questions once when he had just published one of his short stories, “Phoenix.” His one-word answer was, “No.”

I only know of very few new books. That’s very new by my standards

I remember the 60s very well, and there were lots of problems then, too. They just weren’t quite so ugly as they are now. Except maybe for Viet Nam. That was ugly.

There were a few others that were as bad but the good things have always struck me as so exceptionally and overwhelmingly interesting

I’d forgotten all about him – and them! Now you’ve got me singing No Milk Today to the annoyance of my neighbours! Bring back the 60’s I say, naughty bits and all!

Ah, well … I have a friend whose parents live in a live-in-since-then ‘replica’ of the 1950s. They never changed anything.

Assuming it has been very well kept up, that may even be an advantage

True! I have only seen photos of family events with some stuff in the background, but it seems pretty well kept overall. So … yeah … who knows, eh?

We get so thrilled when someone we admire responds to one of our comments. That said, if he likes everything 60’s, what’s wrong with that?
