and she did own many a balloon
they lived such a simple wholesome lifestyle
his porcupines protected them from any harm and
her balloons provided a much needed levity

It’s ironic, of course. Whatever he used to protect her would inadvertently destroy her, eventually, even if he tried to be so careful with her fragility.

That’s true. A porcupine doesn’t exactly represent the very best and safest form of protection but it was necessary for the prompt

The needles on his porcupines, may also, pop her, balloons, which in turn, could mean, that it will be his livelihood that, ends up, damaging the two who are, in love, and, living together too.
