The Pioneers

They decided to start another world

In which all of mankind’s tradional

Square mores would be known only

By way of disapproving folk tales

Intended to discredit the ignorant past

Untamed raw nature, they thought, was their friend

All the flora and fauna were exclusive to the island

History began with Year One After Peace

They even chose their island exactly because

It wasn’t capable of producing an echo

Theirs was in idyllic view of the ocean

One day the sea played quite a dirty

Trick on them though

Bartholomew Barker is back with this month’s Visual Poetry Prompt~
