Doomed

Dagmar, having so long ago murdered Hortense, made one huge mistake.

He got too close to a jagged glass, and received, upon his wrist, a scar, a Mark of Cain, which has never gone away, thereby permanently marring his otherwise perfect complexion.

Decades later, he still recoils in horror whenever he sees it, knowing that it shouts out to the world his guilt.

He now lives hundreds of miles away from the setting of his fiendish misdeed, so no one has heard of it.

He fully expects, though, that it will inevitably catch up with him.
