Harriet’s Vocabulary

‘Good day, Mother, Father,’ Harriet said, having gotten home from school.

‘Miss Crabtree, having affected a most languid posture, surreptitiously narrated the class’s lecture, consonant wiht the requirements of the syllabus,’ she stated.

‘What’s that about?’ her father asked.

‘There’s a new group she wants to join,’ her mother said. ‘She needs an exceptional vocabulary to qualify.’
