Such An Enchanting Deception

It’s as large and impressive

As the Great Plains

At the intersection

Of Tempe and Arcady.

Folks say it’s for real.

Many a Gizzly haired sage

Has sworn to have seen its

Expansive Wheat Fields

At the expense of

Many miles of walking

Through merciless Bramble.

Local legend claims

There’s a gate keeper

Waiting with a

Graphite pencil

Ready to write down

The names of all

Who make the trip.

Anyone would be happy

Merely to arrive

At the Herbal Garden

Immediately outside the

Iron Gate.

There’s a dark side

To the legend though.

The friendly piper at the gate

May be Pan.
