Examination Of Conscience

So far there’s still time

To do the right thing.

I’m on me way to get me oil

For the Bridegroom’s arrival.

I see a blacksmith

With a hammer.

He’ll build us a city.

I see a town crier

Ringing his bell.

He’ll keep us informed

With the truth, the whole truth,

And nothing but the truth.

I see a choir

Singing a song.

They’ll ensure much merriment.

Eventually I shall have to

Arrive at the wedding,

Oil in hand

For fear of

Everlasting trouble.
