Leave It Alone

A past moment,

Brought back to now .

The same cast..

Plot, theme, and setting.

Missing somehow are all

The text, context, and subtext.

‘Repeat your lines verbatim,’

You tell the now

Older changed cast.

A desperate attempt

To revive something

No longer among the living

In the present.

The past has a separate life

All its own.

It hasn’t disappeared

Into non~existence. Rather each past moment

Has found a world,

A flower grown from its seed.
