Once the Great Society

Had already been established

It was decided that man,

Then free of God,

Could simply create

His own fellow man.

The Artist saw the stone

And chiseled all the extra parts away.

He didn’t turn it into a man.

The man was already in it.

He merely chiseled away the parts

That imprisoned the man.

He gave it a name

And brought it to life.

Being now free of

Altar, Throne, and Hearth,

Having traded Cross for Guillotine,

He could take solace

In the knowledge that

He was in no way bound

To the Monster of obedience.
