A Gentleman’s Proper Demeanor

Sometimes jaunty and sometimes staid

I’m Tom and sometimes I’m Thomas,

Each at the right time I promise

A promise that is kept once made.

Each is a role that must be played.

Once casual and once formal

Each is a facet of normal.

My hat I must now doff and tip.

Perchance I’ll make a flippant quip

As times change now to autumnal.

Welcome back to Ronovan’s weekly Espinela/Décima poetry prompt.
