“The Coltre family’s house has always represented high hopes, even during dreary times,” Carl told Mabel. “It always seems to be winter here, never a change of season, yet there’s something so postively friendly in its visage.

“Dare you truly say that?” she replied. “Legend claims there are countless generations of kin buried downstairs, dating back to the seventeenth century.”

“I wouldn’t know for sure,” he said. “I’ve never once been downstairs. Are there really, though? Maybe that’s just a pompous way of referring to scary old memories.”

“We shall never know for sure,” she said. “….or shall we?”
