The Adventures Of Joe Pa.

My parents were both from northeastern Pennsylvania, and though I’ve been a New Yorker since I was little I’m known as Joe Pa. I tell people I’m like the typical Woody Allen character, though they say he’s a New York Jew and I’m a Pa. Catholic. I’m like Charlie Brown, Schroeder, and Linus too. Now I’m eating at the Lido Kosher Deli in Long Beach. I’m incompetent. I constantly expound upon the meaning of life. I have a favorite musical style. I shall ponder that as I eat my sesame bagel with cream cheese, lox,and a pickle.

Welcome back to Rochelle’s weekly .It’s tough enough that no one can tell which day is which now anyway, but she still insists upon starting Friday Fictioneers on Wednesday. has even so graciously deigned to bestow upon us our latest weekly photo prompt.

Well, I learned something from your story, namely that lox is brined salmon, served as you describe. I had to look it up on Google. For me, as a chemist and with an intense interest in spaceflight, lox has always been liquid oxygen.
