More About the Dystopia Here’s Denise’s latest prompt.

“Keep that cap and mask on, stay home at all times, and do only as your politicians tell you,” Big Brother chanted over the loudspeaker in the Public Square.

Winston and Julia were not prepared to be dutiful subjects, either as Comrades or as Citizens.

They defiantly flaunted their refusal to wear their masks and Phrygian caps, understanding fully precisely what each meant.

“They want us to control our Passion based upon the fact that a watched pot never boils,” Winston said.

“They’ve plum forgotten, though,” Julia pointed out, “That once the liquid on the inside has at last gotten sufficiently hot, it will explode with extreme fury and unbridled rage.”

“Their filthy pride will send them back to Hell inevitably,” Winston said.

Your Six reminds me what an indelible impression Mr. Orwell’s book(s) left on me when I was a kid.
I never thought (back then) I would be witness to anything close to resembling what he was describing. But that was a long time ago.

    Energizing Six this week.

    * had me channeling Samuel Jackson for a minute there.

When thousands can march in the street, shoulder to shoulder, but a father skateboarding with his son in an isolated parking lot gets an $800 ticket. That’s when you have to shake your head and say ‘what up’.
