The White Bridge

“There goes yet another little white bridge,” Alice kindly warned her friends.

“It’s only one way. Cross it carefully. You can never turn back again.”

“That can’t be true,” her friends replied. “You can always go back in reverse.”

“It’s different with a white bridge,” said Alice, “As a blessing and a curse.”

Think twice before crossing just any white bridge

Because each one bears with it a lifelong pledge.
