English Money

“In English money,” Henry told Peter, “The words ‘Pound’ , ‘sterling’, and ‘quid’ are synonymous.”

“Yes,” his friend responded, “That’s so very interesting.”

“Nicole’s from England,” Henry said, “So she most certainly ought to be able to help us figure out the details in case we ever need help.”

“Hey,” Peter said, “So far to this very day, not one thing has come up that’s obliged either of us to pay one bit of attention to English money.”

“That’s quite true,” Henry said, “But life is so funny, and one never knows when he will be forced to keep track of some previously unnecessary stuff.”

“You’re quite right,”  said Peter, “So let’s make sure we write it down somewhere.”
