Being Tidy

Cora and Chester recently hired a local Peruvian family to clean their house once every other week.

“They’re so conscientious,” Cora tells friends, “And they Scrub the whole house from top to bottom.”

“They get me crazy though,” said Chester, “Because they always show up when I’m home and my claustrophobia kicks in upon me.”

“They need complete control over the house for hours at a time and I have to stay out of their way.”

“We always have this fight,” she admits.

“It’s a small price to pay for such fabulous cleanliness.”

It sounds like he needs his space and they need his. Could it be that the family was very talkative as they cleaned the house and with the noise and the extra bodies Chester felt like he was being crowded out?
This kind of reminds me a little of a book I used to read to my children when they were young. The book Too Much Noise is about a man who thinks his house is too noisy. It was a fun book to read, and the ending has oft been repeated throughout the years by those in our family.
