Making the Best Of Bad Weather

Jim and Leueen were on a much needed weekend away from home.  They arrived on Friday, during the early afternoon, at the Ipswitch Lodge.

Around a half hour after they first got there the weather took a nasty turn.  It got bitter cold.  For the first time in forty years, the lake froze.  As if that weren’t quite enough, there was a pea soup fog settling in.

“Wow,” she said. “This is like one of those old time movies, with all the terrifying symbolic melodrama.” That’s having been said, they turned on a cable channel, the one with all the old classic Criterion Collection movies, and proceeded to watch some really nice films.

There weekend was a little cramped, and somewhat less perfect than what they had originally envisioned, but all went so very well.
