Out Of Bounds Now



She’s confronted with what might have been:

Refined airs and graces,

A forsaken Tempe or Arcady

A statue of Athena, vandalized, stands starkly in the background.

The neighborhood is somehow colder now, damper, than she remembers it

As she counts her pointless tears in teaspoonsful.
