fatal enigma

“Another hit by the same guy, eh, Sam?” Miles moaned pointlessly.

“That’s the third time in two months.”

“At least we can count on the same M.O. each time,” replied Sam. “Beautiful dame, one missing shoe. I wish I could figure out what all these oversized numbers and letters mean though.”

“For now,” complained Miles, “they at least mean that we’re stuck with more paperwork, dead ends and frustration.”

“That’s the life of a dedicated gumshoe.”

They cleaned up the mess, got everything organized and left.

Until further notice they could do no more.

  1. What is it with serial killers and the weird clues they leave? It’s almost like they’re killing to satisfy the crime writers.
    Good piece.
